Mission Overview

The Global Millennium Development Foundation complements efforts by the United Nations and the international community in fulfilling their commitments to the Millennium Declaration signed by 189 countries in 2000; and in further agreements by member states to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Multi-Stakeholder Approach to Sustainable Development

    Sustainable Development Goal 17 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – “Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development” – recognizes multi-stakeholder partnerships as important vehicles for mobilizing and sharing knowledge, expertise, technologies and financial resources to support the achievement of the sustainable development goals in all countries, particularly developing countries. With these aims, the Foundation pursues inclusive partnerships built upon principles and values, a shared vision, and shared goals that place people and the planet at the centre, are needed at the global, regional, national and local level.
