The Global Millennium Development Foundation (GMDF) has been granted special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Consultative status enables GMDF to actively engage with the ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat, programs, funds and agencies in a number of ways which include:

  • Participate in the work of the ECOSOC by placing items of interest on the provisional agenda of the Council and submitting statements;
  • Designate official representatives to the United Nations, who can register for and participate in events, conferences, and activities;
  • Consult with the ECOSOC and subsidiary bodies on matters of mutual interest or concern; and
  • An ability to use UN facilities in matters related to the work of the ECOSOC.

“Achieving this recognition is a major achievement for the Foundation, and allows us to expand our presence in the international arena,” said Andrei Abramov, Program Director of the P3 Initiative for GMDF. “We look forward to forging new relationships with entities from the United Nations that share our common interest in pursuit of Public-Private Partnerships.”
